Can you believe it’s the end of 2013 already?! Personally, I spent the majority of the year pregnant so I feel like I’ve got my work cut out for 2014 when it comes to fitness goals.

With the close of another year it’s a good time to remind yourself of the accomplishments you’ve made over the last 12 months. Focus on the positive and try to set short and long term realistic goals for the new year.

The holidays are a week away, make your list of goals now. You’re much more likely to stick to your routine if you know what’s ahead.

Need some inspiration of goals to add to your list?
-eat one more serving of veggies every day
-drink one more glass of water
-add 30 minutes of cardio after your workout
-go to bed early
-skip dessert at a holiday function
– have a protein shake before attending an event or gathering

Don’t let traveling ruin your routine either. I’ve had to travel every year since moving away for college. I try to at the very minimum go for a long walk or run every day that I’m away. It’s very easy to do body weight exercises as well, they require no equipment and you can knock out a pretty good set in a short amount of time. Just remember any workout or movement is better than nothing, especially if you’re planning on enjoying holiday treats.

50 jumping jacks
25 push ups
50 mountain climbers
25 crunches
50 squats
25 reverse lunges
1 min plank
Do the whole circuit at least twice, up to 5 times.. Need a little extra? Add a one mile run to the end.
